Compliance and Privacy Associate
The Compliance and Privacy Associate will staff or otherwise support key projects outlined in FHCHC’s annual Corporate Compliance Work Plan and provide inter-departmental assistance for “continuous readiness” with standards established by accrediting organizations and with State and Federal regulations.
Duties and responsibilities
- Staffs the Corporate Compliance Committee, prepares quarterly reports outlining Compliance Work Plan performance, conducts monthly Office of Civil Rights data queries, and produces the monthly Compliance Dashboard
- Under the direction of the Corp. Compliance Officer, conducts inter-departmental audits based on areas of priority outlined in FHCHC’s Corp. Compliance Work Plan
- Conducts enterprise-wide privacy rounds and mock audits under the direction of the HIPAA Privacy Officer
- Participates in FHCHC’s Accreditation Committee and provides inter-departmental technical assistance to promote “continuous readiness” in meeting accrediting standards established by The Joint Commission (TJC)
- Review federal and state issued regulatory changes and recommend policy changes.
- Conduct internal audits and recommend corrective action plans as directed by the Corporate Compliance Officer.
- Serves as the Compliance Department’s on-site liaison in any regulatory visits conducted by various regulatory authorities.
- Performs other assigned duties under the direction of the Corporate Compliance Officer
Qualifications
- Associate degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred. A minimum of one year of experience in healthcare compliance or privacy is required. Proficiency with Microsoft office (Word, Outlook, & Excel) and Epic EHR also required.
- Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or Healthcare Privacy (CHPC) and one year of experience with Privacy / HIPAA investigations is preferred.
- Familiarity with Bureau of Primary Health Care Compliance requirements and TJC ambulatory health care along with patient centered medical home standards is highly desirable.
- The selected candidate will have the ability to analyze data to identify deficiencies and develop corrective action plan; strong analytical, critical thinking, problem solving and computer skills; a high level of integrity and have strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skill
